The Jerk

from What It Is, Too by Andrew Newton

/

about

Waiting for the old Metro Bus in Halifax, a turd of a human being was making a jackass of himself. Sweat pants, mesh-back hat, cigar, swagger in his step, reeking of cheep domestic beer, shouting like the world needed to know what nothingness was on his mind, like he was king of the world.

lyrics

Just another dog-day afternoon.
Summer's far away like the face in the mid-day moon.
It's clear, but not all-there.
Leave the house, I'm feeling kinda low.
Try to start a fire to star in another show.
I walk into the lair.

Sitting, screaming, tied and bound.
Aimless, pointless, make no sound,
And things will be alright

If I crawl into your feeble mind
I could try to find the gears to make you unwind
Into a living soul.
Yet you keep on angering my heart.
Set my mind on fire, I'll tear your soul apart
And I will take control.

If you try to say those words again,
I will show you a new definition of terrible pain,
And leave you on the street.
Yet I just came home and wrote it down.
You won't be so lucky of someone else comes around
And you'll lie at his feet.
