Some Kind Of Sign

from What It Is, Too by Andrew Newton

/

about

I usually refrain from writing love songs, but with everything that's happened in the last few years with my wife and I, plus the little ditty that came about on guitar, I couldn't resist. This was played at our wedding as our 1st dance

Side note: It's a love song, just try to find the word "love" in there. It's alright, I'll wait...

lyrics

Looks like we finally made it,
And it seems like it's about damn time.
And though I don't know for sure what's behind this darkened door,
There must be some kind of sign.
Some kind of sign.

I've seen the mountains and highways.
I've seen the oceans and plains.
Capture this light, I know it's alright.
Looks Like we're at it again.

And when you're here with me
I can finally breathe.

And all I've ever wished for
And all I'll ever be
Means very little in the end
If it's only me
Without you.

I'll hold your naked body.
I'll try to keep you warm.
And though I don't really know why we never see the snow,
I'll keep you safe from the storm.

You hold the key, I'm at the doorway.
You need to help me get inside,
Though we're both lost with eyes open wide.
