about

Many times people face to face can't see eye to eye.

lyrics

The wind is cold, but the fan is on.
My face as hot as the day is long.
Sweat pours off my brow.
My stomach creeks and cracks like a haunted house.
Come into the room, and the searing is lifted.
Still, your thoughts betray you, your weight has been shifted.
And though I haven't died,
You flaunt down the street like I was never alive.

And you and I and all that we divide.

And now we're back in the light of day
And gossip's all you have to say.
In one ear an out.
To the cult on the page you're far more devout.
So I tear up this paper like a million before it.
It's fallen off the poster board where all can adore it.
And though the show goes on,
You talk of your deeds like you were never gone.

So let me be the first to admit
That I never cared to much for it.
I feel cleaner now,
To be out of the city as far as you'll allow.
The home that still calls me has a grip unending.
A place I escaped that I'm now defending.
And though I cannot stay,
You claim I'll be back when everything's OK.
